MAPPING NORTH MOSQUITO LAGOON TO CATCH REDS AND TROUTS

I am a retired Professional Engineer, and so trained I like to quantify things, such as in boating to know where I am, and how shallow the water is under the boat, for I do not wish to get lost or run aground in the Mosquito Lagoon when I fish for REDs and TROUTs .

Fishing report for weekend of March 30-April 1

It should be a great weekend to head offshore. Seas are expected to be less than two feet with light south winds. Dolphin catches are best around 160-220 feet, with fish concentrating around surface rips. Look for kingfish on any 60- to 80-foot reef off Canaveral or Sebastian. Rig a live, 6- to 10-inch silver mullet or pogy on a wire stinger rig and slow troll these areas. Cobia are hanging around the same reefs as the kings, so keep a rod ready with a jig or live bait hook. (from…

Fish Recipe's From The Wile E Coyote

These recipe's are ones that I have personally used, and at least liked enough

to try a second time. There are many different spesis of fish locally caught,

and some seem to lend themselves to one style of cooking over another.

I usually find myself too tired and hot to fire up the grill in the evening,

especially in the summer, so most of my fish is cooked in a skillet.

It still taste great.

I will add these as I can remember,…

Lock Closure during the 1st annual 'Thunder on the Beach" Space Coast Super Boat Grand Prix

I am sure that by now everyone has heard by now that The Super Boat Offshore races are coming back to Cocoa Beach August 20th-22nd. What might not be as well known is that the Army Corps of engineers has decided to close the locks from August 3rd through September 11th 2010. As a result of this closure many Brevard County boaters that were planing on watching the race from their boat will now not be able to. To compound the situation there is also a fishing tournament scheduled to go out of the… Continue

BP oil Leak, Help me get my idea to the right people to STOP it!

Hitting alot of red tape and screening roadblocks! If you have any contacts that could put me to the right people at BP I would appreciate it! Day 55 and still pumping crude into the Gulf, Unbelievable!!!

FISHERIES CAMPAIGN

The Fisheries Campaign of the Marine Resources Council (MRC) has the objective of restoring the once thriving sea life in the Indian River Lagoon (IRL). Many of us remember, as recently as the '70s, when our water was clear and acres of sea grass covered the flats. The IRL was the sea trout capital of the world and teemed with snook, reds and other species fun to catch and great to eat. We stood on the bridges at night and dipped huge shrimp and blue crabs for the table. We could wade in…

1st Annual Thunder On The Beach Space Coast Super Boat Grand Prix

My name is Josh Blakley and I am the founder of Space Coast Super Boat along with my partner and co-founder Kerry Bartlett. We are working diligently with local officials to bring back offshore racing to brevard county in August of this year. Breavard has not had an offshore race event since 1991, so both Kerry and myself are working very hard on changing that and are working to make this an annual event. Our goal is to bring the excitement and thrill of high performance offshore racing for… Continue
